CARE

As leather is an organic material, it needs occasional care and conditioning to keep it looking at its best throughout the years.

BEFORE USE

A good start is to waterproof your new bag before use.
Even if you are protecting your bag regularly with a protectant spray, leather can never be entirely waterproof. Avoid humidity or rain if possible.
For a good protection, 2 or 3 successive light spraying coats are best. We recommend to wait a few hours between before applying the next coat.

CARE

● CLEAN
Wipe the stain off with a clean, damp cloth. Continue rubbing the area until it is damp, but not soaked through.
Apply some leather cleanser to the soft cloth. Wipe the stained area again with the soft cloth until the stain is gone.
Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe off any leather cleanser residue.
Let the bag dry for about 30 minutes.

● CONDITION
Conditioning your leather helps to keep it supple, remember leather is skin after all.
Apply some leather conditioner to the bag once it is dry. Use a soft cloth to apply the lotion.
Rub the lotion on using circular motions. This will help keep the leather soft and supple.

Leave it to dry for at least 3 hours.

● WATERPROOF
Use a protectant spray to waterproof your bag.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU REPEAT THIS PROCESS?
Keeping your bag looking great is about regular maintenance rather than a quick fix.
We suggest you to repeat the cleaning, conditioning and waterproofing process every 6 months, to ensure your bag stays clean and undamaged.
But the regularity with which you need to do this depends on how often you use your bag. The more you use it, the more cleaning it will need.

STORAGE

● CLEAN
Empty and clean your bag. Be sure to let your bag completely dry before putting it away.

● STUFF
Stuff it with tissue paper or a small pillow, or bubble wrap to preserve the shape of your bag.
Be sure to wrap exposed hardware (chains, zippullers…) with a piece of tissue paper to keep it from making imprints on your bag over time.

● COVER
Stash your bag in a dustbag or a cotton pillowcase. Make sure that the dust bag is large enough so that your handbag doesn’t warp when it is stored.

● STORE
Put your bag in a dry and dark place, preferably a closet or at the very least away from direct sunlight.
Line your bags up on a shelf leaving a gap between each bag.
